25 students from MMU Melaka and Cyberjaya, Selangor are those who behind this charity program.
Realizing the poor life of muslim community in Cambodia is still plagued by terrible poverty and low educational level after the reign of Pol-Pot’s communist regime in Cambodia from 1975 until 1979 in which Malay-Cham community who were all muslims and have customs and history of their own be the massacre victims thus, this program was established. This welfare program will be implemented in Battambang province, located in northwestern Cambodia on 13th until 20th October this year.
The main objective of this program is to educate the muslim minorities in this area about the basic islamic education in a daily life as a muslim. In addition to Cambodian muslim community, this program also aims to provide exposure and create awareness among participants about the fate of muslims of this third world country as well as to test of the leadership skills of the participants. Apart from that, this program will also strengthen the fraternity among the participants and the muslim community in Cambodia.
In addition, several other activities like aqiqah will also be held there. The public can be involved indirectly in this program by participating in this aqiqah in Cambodia activity. This activity can be accompanied by anyone either parents or adults who are interested in doing aqiqah for their children or themselves. Through this activity, those involved will not only perform the sunat muakkad but also indirectly helped the muslim community in Cambodia. There was a hadith narrated by Ahmad, “from Samurah reported, saying of the Prophet s.a.w, “every child is held in pledge for its 'Aqeeqah which is sacrificed for him on his seventh day, and he is named on it, and his head is shaved.”
